Catching Snowflakes

here in the south
snowflakes are a rare commodity

so much so
that when they do come to visit

I drop everything

to run outside

and start shooting like a crazy person!

...and, man, did my fingers get cold...

(and to put these flakes into perspective, they were no larger than 1/16th of an inch)

  3. Great shots of the delicate tiny flakes. I've been throwing shovelfuls off my driveway for over a week now. I've caught the snow virus.

  4. Beautiful shots! I think the US has all of our Swedish snow as it's sadly lacking over here.

  5. Cold fingers? You've been rewarded! All stunning captures. In holland it's 14 degrees Celcius and instead of snow I'm looking at lovely orange Prunus blossom. Still waiting for Winter to arrive.

  6. Did you use some kind of macro lens to take those shots?

  7. I live year after year with crazy amounts of snow and I don't think I've ever snapped a snowflake. These are simply beautiful.
