Monday's Movies & Music

you probably thought
i'd have chosen something related to the Oscars
gotcha!
nope, i figured you've probably seen more of the nominated films than i have.
but, i will say this,
i LOVED
Life a Pi
which did win four oscars
how they made that movie is beyond me
so realistic, yet so unreal
fantastic acting, music and cinematography
a must see

no....
this week i chose
a piece of classical music
that always brings a sense of calm to me
whenever i hear it

it is a gorgeous piece of music that
 from the very first notes
transports me to
laying on a blanket
on a summer night
staring upwards into an infinite black sky
filled with stars and imagination

how does it affect you, if at all?

the visual graphics
are a perfect accompaniment
to this video

the piece is five minutes long
so make sure to listen when you have the time
enjoy!

  5. I wanted to see Life of Pi when it came out. Will put that on the list with Hugo. The music is very soothing. I feel relaxed listening to it. I also love The Lark Ascending for relaxing. :)

  6. The lightness of Clair de Lune suits perfectly to this Monday ... Thank you! Life of Phi is on my "wish to see"- list, together with the Les Miserables. I saw The Untouchables the other week - such a hearty film ... Both delightfully fun but also so touching, based on a real story ... A tear or two fell in the end... Have a great week!

  9. So beautiful! Thank you, Jill! I haven't seen Life of Pi - I was going to wait until I read the book, but I probably should see the movie first.

  10. Clair de lune is one of my favorites! For me it's laying in a hammock on a cool but comfortable evening looking up at the Autumn stars.

  12. This is a beautiful piece of music. My husband has been working at perfecting it, in fact he is practicing right now. I want you to know that I enjoy reading your words. Your words here about what this music does to you has me hearing and seeing this music in a new perspective. Thank you for that gift. Beauty for the soul.
